Happy Valentines Day!

First, I have the best boyfriend in the world. A not so good day suddenly got a wholeeeee lot better with the arrival of this baby during lunch! I haven’t taken the wrapping off the flowers yet….obviously,

I am one lucky girl ;)

but I will when I get home. Those chocolates look pretty darn good too. I don’t think I’ve tried Mrs. Fields before. Perfect dessert to go with Valentines day dinner!

Tonight Brian and I are planning a quiet night in. Last year we went to the Citizen Wine Bar in Worcester, which was awesome, but we’re both in the mood for something a little more low key this year. We’re going to stay home and cook parmesan crusted chicken. We’ve made it once before and it was delicious. Hopefully there will be enough for leftovers. I’ll take plenty of pictures for you guys and post the recipe, if you’re interested. After dinner we’re going to split a bottle of wine and watch House of Cards season 2 on Netflix. Maybe I should say binge watch—because that’s exactly what happened with season one. We finished it in less than a week I think! If you haven’t already seen the show, I highly recommend it. It’s addicting!

Now on to the health and food stuff……

Today is another snowy day in New England and the parking lot to my condo wasn’t plowed by the time my alarm went off at 5:00 am. Needless to say, digging myself out AND getting in a workout wasn’t going to happen. Just so you can get an idea of what I’m talking about, here’s a picture from my drive home yesterday during the snow storm.

I want spring!

In total, we got about eight inches. Not too bad, but enough to keep me inside this morning. To make up for my missed morning workout, I plan to squeeze in a circuit workout later tonight from my “Ripped in 30” DVD by Jillian Michaels. I bought the DVD a few years ago, but never followed it consistently. It’s a great indoor workout and it’s easy to do at home. It’s a killer though! Jillian will kick your butt in the best way!

Since I had some extra time this morning (because I didn’t go to the gym), I made an egg wrap for breakfast. We’re really low on groceries right now so the wrap only included an egg seasoned with black pepper and sea salt and a slice of American cheese rolled up into a wheat wrap. I usually like to include spinach, tomatoes and mozzarella, but we didn’t have any. My wrap was still yummy though!

Easy breakfast option.

Have a great Valentines Day! I will check in later with an update on dinner and details on Brian’s gift.
