Hi! Hope your week is off to a good start! I just wanted to pop in and share a few pics and a recap of yesterday.
Me, Brian and my sister got up early and walked to a a little outdoor cafe/bar called “Dushi. It’s right in the downtown area close to our hotel.
I ordered a veggie omelet and a coffe. The omelet was delicious!
Then we walked back to the hotel to digest and hit the gift shop for a few items I forgot to pack. While we were in there, Brian spotted a sign that explained “Dushi” actually means sweetheart and is a word used to describe the good things in life. The people in aruba have a very good sense of humor though because variations of this shirt are everywhere. I got a good laugh out of that.
Mid morning we hit the gym and I had an awesome treadmill run. I did 3 miles and then a little bit of ab work. I plan to hit the gym again today right after publishing this post. Then I’m going to sit my butt on the beach just like I did yesterday. We have a few excursions planned later in the week including an off-road jeep tour of the island and various beaches, but for now, we’re staying low key and soaking up the sun.
This is pretty much what the rest of my day looked like until dinner.
I also saw plenty of these guys running around the beach!
After two days in Aruba here’s what I’ve discovered:
1). The margaritas at the Holiday Inn are bomb
2). I would totally be ok with packing up and moving to the beach for the rest of my life
Alright, those are the highlights from my weekend. What are yours? Did you do anything fun? Is the weather nice near you?
Pink Polish and Running Shoes 
Wow I’m totally jealous! My weekend was not nearly as exciting but we drove from Maryland to North Carolina to get the keys to our new apartment. Then we cleaned the apartment and drove back the next day haha. The weather has been nice so I can’t complain about that!
Mhmm I love getting in a good workout and then just vegging out when I’m on vacation! Send me a margarita pleaseeee 😉
Love the pictures!! Keep them coming:) when my brother was at school on Curaçao and I first went to visit I couldn’t get over the word Dushi! It is so funny how they have it everywhere! When I learned it meant sweet it all made sense! Hehe!
Exactly! Before I was like what is this…hahahaha, but it makes sense now.
Ahhh warm weather and sunshine, can’t wait to hit up the beach in two weeks. It’s winter here and the locals think it’s really cold…. I seriously judge people who are wearing long sleeves layered with a sweatshirt AND a winter jacket when it’s still over 50 degrees.
Hahaah that’s too funny! Coming from New England I feel the same way. Over 50 is not cold lol.
